Bryan Leslie, Director of Building Operations & Team Up Green Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment
Bryan Leslie Is the Director of Building Operations and Team Up Green for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which supports the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors in the Air Canada Centre, and hosts over 260 events per year. Team Up Green is MLSE’s commitment to the environment and will reduce Utilities and carbon footprint by 30%, and divert 95% of waste from landfill by the year 2013. Bryan also worked on the Governments 95% diversion from landfill through the deconstruction initiative at Canadian Forces Base Toronto.
Joey McColm, NASCAR Canada Driver/Environmental Advocate
Recognized as one of Canada’s most personable and accessible drivers in NASCAR Canada, professional racecar driver Joey McColm is also a civil and environmental engineer. He graduated from Toronto’s Ryerson University in 2010 and is currently working on an MBA degree. Joey is also an advocate for, and leading example of, individual responsibility when it comes to the environment in professional racing and his personal life. Joey began his career at age 15 as a first-generation driver and quickly moved up the ranks of competitive racing in Canada. In 2010, he finished his first full NASCAR Canada season with an impressive national rank of 11th. Following a race in Peterborough last year, Joey started the process of reducing his impact and that of his team by committing to simple environmental actions. His team has since become the most environmentally responsible team in NASCAR Canada.
