New Green Energy Doors Open Symposium

OSEA Members, Non-Members and Guests enjoyed our second Post-COVID New GEDO 2024 Symposium. It was held on November 28th from 8:30 to 12:30 at Centennial College 937 Progress Avenue, Toronto, ON, M1G 3T8.
We had a great turn out both in the room and online from across the province. We opened with a welcome from Centennial College talking about their research and innovation department and then a welcome video message from the Minister of Energy and Electrification. We had several members show their technology and solutions on exhibit tables around the room. We then held our opening with 3 keynote speakers and then 3 panels on Decarbonization, Green Smart Buildings and Government Programs. Prior to the pandemic, the Green Energy Doors Open events were held over a few days with members and sponsors opening their facility doors to engage their clients, community members and show them the sustainable energy technologies and projects on which they were working. This open-door approach is not feasible at this time. As the Ontario Energy Plan has now included renewable energy and storage options that will be built across the province, we may return to the open-door format in the future.
The event ended at 12:30 to allow those that needed to leave have the afternoon for other activities. Others stayed and networked with others and the exhibitors. We will begin to plan next years event and see if we can expand it to the full day.
