The Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre (EVDC) is the first facility of its kind in the world, and the only one of its kind in Canada, dedicated to providing an experiential learning environment for electric transportation. We provide unbiased and factual information about electric cars in a sales-free, no-pressure environment. Come visit the EVDC to test drive one our Electric Vehicles (Evs) and learn more about EVs through interactive displays and our history wall. It’s a fun activity for the entire family.

The Underwood Wind Farm (Enbridge Ontario Wind Farm) is a wind farm located in Bruce County, Ontario, near the shores of Lake Huron. It was developed by Enbridge Inc.
The farm consists of 110 Vestas V82 wind turbines, each rated at 1.65MW, for a total nameplate capacity of 181.5MW. The project includes a substation to step up the power generated by the turbines to 230kV for transmission.

This truly magnificent 4,600 sq. ft. home in Guelph’s prestigious Heritage Lake Estates community is Canada’s first certified luxury Net Zero Home. A net-zero energy (NZE) home is designed and built to reduce household energy needs to a minimum and includes on-site renewable energy systems that enable the home to produce at least as much energy as it consumes on a yearly basis. Come see Canada's first Luxury Net Zero Home during Green Energy Doors Open. Informal tours will take place on Saturday 21 from 1 to 5 pm each day.

The site is located near Waterloo University on Albert and Columbia St. Parking can be found at the Columbia Street entrance.
This large, compact district community of buildings is heated and cooled by water at 550 ft below the property, drastically cutting cooling and heating energy and displacing the majority of CO2.
This is the largest water-source heat pump installation in Canada. The complex is comprised of five buildings and six towers with 603 apartment units and 25,116 sq ft of commercial space. It was built in an extraordinary short time; the whole site was built in 12 months. It has been operating since 2017.

20A Senlac Road was built as an environmentally efficient and modular home in 2013, and is LEED For Homes Gold certified. It has a ground water heat pump instead of a natural gas HVAC system, a just-in-time hot water boiler, and an ERV. It has a 21 panel PV solar array generating 5.25 kW on a good day via a MicroFIT contract. The balance of the roof is “green”: a living roof of sedums. The Energy Index after 5 years is about 80 kWH/m2/year: not quite the PER<60 of a Passive House, but closer than most new houses. The ENERGUIDE Rating was 89 at time of construction.
Electromechanical & Nano Lab, Lambton College Energy Research Centre

The Electrochemical and Nano Material Lab is the site of Lambton College’s ongoing research in electrochemical power sources, novel material development for energy conversion and storage, and green processes to create sustainable energy pathways. Including spectrography, chromatography, storage cycle characterization, and fuel cell testing equipment, this facility provides a variety of research capabilities to Lambton College and its Industrial Partners. Green Energy Doors Open will give people a chance to see all of the different Nano-engineering and Electrochemistry Research in support of Green Energy.

Our Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre (ERC) is a 9,290-square-metre facility that houses our unique-in-Canada education programs and research in geothermal, hydraulic, hydrogen, natural gas, nuclear, solar and wind energy technologies. The ERC enables leading-edge research in clean and green energies and technologies, and promotes Canada's entrepreneurial advantage through public-private research and commercialization partnerships.
Through its offering of programs in Nuclear Engineering and Energy Systems Engineering, the university is well-positioned as the premier training ground for the country's future energy scientists and nuclear engineers. Undergraduate, graduate and second-career training enrolment is projected to climb from 364 students in 2009-2010 to approximately 650 in 2012. This increase will help address the significant demand for next-generation professionals who are prepared to meet the needs of a rapidly growing industry and aging infrastructure and ensure Canada has the highly qualified workforce that it requires to remain globally competitive. Over the past decade Camp Kawartha has taken a leadership role in fostering stewardship and environmental awareness. We are an accredited, award-winning, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the promotion of the highest standard of programming. Established in 1921, Camp Kawartha has expanded into a year-round facility, offering day and overnight summer camps for children ages 4-17, curriculum-linked outdoor and environmental education programs for students in grades K to 12, and facility rentals for meetings, workshops, group retreats, and conferences.
Camp Kawartha also offers workshops on environmental education, sustainable living and is working with the entire community to foster stewardship at each and stage of a child’s development.
